5 Ways to Fuel Your Inner Adrenaline Junkie

If you dig the feeling of your heart racing, your pulse thumping in your ears, and that knot of adrenaline in your stomach, then Peru is the trip for you! Despite the country being smaller than the average Canadian province, it has every type of landscape you could ever imagine, making it one hell of a playground.

When you travel through Peru with Free & Easy you’ll get to immerse yourself in coastal cities, tiny towns, remote villages, sacred mountains, and an incredible desert. Each location offers its own death-defying adventures should you be ballsy enough to partake. So if you’re like me and enjoy that disgusting feeling of staring death in the eye and saying “not today,” then this is what you need to do while wandering through the Incan world.

1) HOP IN A DUNE BUGGY & GRAB YOUR SANDBOARD!

Trade in your typical snowboard and skis for a sandboard and let the dunes blow your mind. You’ll head into the desert on a buggy that rivals the intensity and fun of a rollercoaster. You’ll make a few pit stops to hop on your board and go jetting down sand dunes bigger than you could ever imagine. And if you’re wondering, yes, you will eat the entire desert by the time you get out of there.

2) GO PARAGLIDING ALONG THE COAST OR IN THE SACRED VALLEY

There’s nothing quite like potentially falling off the side of a cliff while the wind catches your sail to give you that dose of adrenaline you desire. No matter what happens, the 360 degree views of the Peruvian coastline or of the Sacred Valley will forever be burned inside your mind as you soar through the air just trying to pick your jaw up.

3) BUNGEE JUMP OVER THE SACRED VALLEY

Sure, you can technically bungee jump everywhere, but it’s hard to beat jumping over the Sacred Valley…especially when you’re hitting up the highest bungee jump in South America (think free falling from a platform over 400 ft in the air—if that doesn’t get your heart pumping I don’t know what will). Don’t skimp out on your pre jump warm ups or you’ll be smacking yourself for that later. If potential whiplash isn’t part of your plan, you can always slingshot. Equally as adrenaline inducing and fun – this day will be one to remember.

4) HIT THE TRAILS…WITH A MOUNTAIN BIKE!

Recommended only for those who participate in this sort of thing back home; you’ll be in for the ride of your life while biking down a mountain surrounded by (what else?) more mountains! With twists and turns like you wouldn’t believe, mind-blowing landscapes and stops in remote villages, this ride will go down in the books as one of your most epic travel experiences.

5) PULL OUT THE BIG GUNS

That’s right…bruises are headed your way as you hit up paint balling in the middle of the Sacred Valley! Dash between hideouts, duck and cover as those little balls of paint and (hard ass!) plastic fly over your head, and maybe even encounter a sheep or two meandering across your battle field. Of course no real Free & Easy paint battle is complete without a hoard of travelers in animal onesies.
