Our featured team member for the month of June is a man with a nose for adventure, an appetite for fun, and a beard for bacteria! Mr. June is one of our trip leaders conquering good times around the world – Ben Godfrey AKA Burgs McDo! Ben G got started with us in classic fashion, on a 40-day Thailand trip where all the most strange and wonderful parts of a person’s character can be put on proper display over the entirety of the adventure. Needless to say, we found Ben’s quirks especially intriguing (side note: favourite travel accessory is a batman mask) and we were keen to learn how much deeper this man was willing to go.
The nice-guy stuff of being a travel guide comes second nature to Ben – it doesn’t matter where in the world you run into this guy, you’ll be welcomed by a broad smile and open arms! This all-inclusive attitude makes him good for the job, but his willingness to let go of comforts and embrace the wayward ways of the road make him great at it. As his beard has grown, so has his wisdom and understanding of the importance of living a happy life full of adventure. His desire to share these experiences with others is unwavering and whether he’s rocking around Southeast Asia or killing it in Nicaragua for New Year’s, his lust for life continues to be contagious to everyone around him!

“Ben was so knowledgeable about the destinations we went to. He smoothly got 22 people through three countries and kept the morale high through bigger travel days. Always volunteered for the not-so-good-seats on any ride and always switched with people if they asked. He was able to build relationships with every person on the trip by finding common interests with each beyond simply having a drink and made everyone feel very comfortable at all times!” -Trip Member Jason
