Staff Picks: Favourite Place to Party

Question: Where in the world is your favourite place to throw down?!

With so many epic party scenes around the globe it can be hard to choose a favourite throw down spot. But we forced our staff to choose and their answers did not disappoint! If you’re looking for a wicked place to party, we’ve got you covered.

Ben Godfrey – Trip Leader: “Post Full Moon Party on Haad Yuan Beach – Let the ridiculousness ensue!”

Chris Sherry – Finance: “Chiang Mai Thailand during Songkran. Thai New Years Water Festival. This festival brings out the little kid in everyone and literally no one can stop smiling for the 3 days of water fighting and partying no matter how wet you are!!!”

Kyle Wright – Trip Leader: “The bowling alley in Luang Prabang. It’s the only place open late in town and sells alcohol by either big Beer Laos or whiskey by the two six. I love bowling, and weird bowling is one of my favourite group activities.”

Toni Sweetland – Trip Leader: “Probably backpackers alley in Chiang Mai, it’s this awesome little T-intersection with 7-8 tiny little bars, some no bigger than your living room. But they’re all different themes. There’s everything from typical club music, jazz or oldies to live reggae and metal! Plus a few good noodle soup vendors on the walk home ;)”

Luke Helland – Trip Leader: “Ariels Point Cliff Jumping Facility – Boracay, Philippines.  This epic cliff jumping destination provides all you can drink booze and a killer lunch.  Mix that with the adrenaline of jumping off a 15m cliff and a epic club built into the cliffs themselves makes for an unreal day!”

James O’Brien – Trip Leader: “Gili Trawangan in Indonesia has in my opinion some of the best live bands I’ve ever seen!  The Indie Rock band that plays at New Rudies and the Reggae Band that plays at Sama Sama are unreal!  I’ve payed tons of money back home to go see famous bands, these guys are free and way better!  Probably my top five party nights in Asia have been on Gili T!”

Dusty Anderson – Flights Manager: “Gili Islands!! You can have it all on a night out in the Gili’s (live music, beer pong, huge dance parties) and when you are done partying you just simply walk the only main road on the island home!”

Jimi Doohan – Trip Leader & Logistics Coordinator: “Ios baby. If there’s one way to make me smile without fail it is to say the word ‘Ios’. Party at the famous Far Out Beach Club while you keep cool by the pool then head into town at night for your pick of countless bars throughout the maze. Go to themed bars, have slap shots, feed the drunk hunger at the best club in town (Club Sandwich, they have poutine, we sometimes tell them early on to stock up when we’re around), dance the night away until early hours then have a sleep on the beach outside our accommodation. Ios baby, Ios.”

Carrie Robinson – Customer Service: “Ios, Greece! It was the first place I partied on my very first FnEZ trip, and it’s been a consistent favourite while leading there for 4 years.”
