Question: What’s your favourite travel day on a Free & Easy Trip?

With travel comes long travel days… it’s inevitable. But that doesn’t mean travel days have to be boring! We have some pretty epic travel days on our trips around the world, and below are some of our favourites!

Carrie Robinson – Customer Service: “Any travel day on top of a jeepney in the Philippines.

Dusty Anderson – Flights & Finance: “On the Costa Panama 10-Day. When you travel from San Jose to Puerto Viejo you stop in the middle of the travel day to go white water rafting! It’s an awesome adventure and breaks up the travel days nicely!”

Jimi Doohan – Trip Leader: “Lagos – Sagres, Algarve, Portugal. Travel days in Europe are pretty mild compared to other trips, and Lagos to Sagres is only about a 30 minute drive, so we turned it into a mere 1.5 hour drive to include a beach day at Benegil where we go to the Benegil sea cave, reachable only by swimming so we get to enjoy it nearly by ourselves and those who know about it. Then we drive to Cabo de São Vicente to watch the sunset on the point previously known as ‘the end of the known world’ before the Americas were discovered. All before heading to our accommodation up the road and ending the travel day!”

Toni Sweetland – Trip Leader: “I like the Slow Boat between Laos and Thailand. You’re on this massive and totally decked out wooden boat on the Mekong river. the boat is so big too that you can nap and read a book, and just take in the view or have a couple Beer Laos and get a little silly! It’s never a bad time.”

Evan Bachman – Trip Leader: “Santorini to Ios, Greece. One hour ferry from the most beautiful place to the best party in all of Greece.”

James O’Brien – Trip Leader: “The fast boat from Bali to Gili T on a sunny day up on the roof listening to music and having a few beers!”

Kyle Wright – Trip Leader: “Our bus ride between Luang Prabang and Vang Vieng in Laos. It’s an unpredictable 4-7 hour drive on a winding road up and down mountains, but it is absolutely STUNNING! You can easily spend the entire drive staring out the window at the incredible landscape.”

Ben Copeland – Customer Service: “We took a local bus to Sagres Portugal. It turned into a school bus for the last hour, on piled the kids and the bus was completely full.  The exchange of laughs, funny faces and smiles made for a super fun, memorable travel day.”

Chris Sherry – Finance: “Motorbikes through Vietnam. Sitting on the back of a motorbike in Vietnam, with your headphones in and just taking in all the scenery that the coast of Vietnam has to offer, there is no better way to see it than from the back of an experienced local motorbike driver.”
